Libby’s Blog
This is a messy, experimental, learning-out-loud space. It’s also a sharing space where I can drop random “here’s one way to do this thing” type of posts. My mission is to not curate the heck out of everything and to share the reality of what data work looks like for me. This means I’ll get things wrong, I’ll try things out, and I’ll strive for fun over perfection. I’ll also probably forget it exists for large periods of time.
I welcome conversation that is kind, curious, and courteous.
The Ellsworth Project: Part 7
Documenting the creation of The Ellsworth App, in which I finish the paint-by-numbers plot and the swatch plot.
The Ellsworth Project: Part 6
Documenting the creation of The Ellsworth App, in which I figure out how to assign colors to the matrix so they don’t clump.
The Ellsworth Project: Part 5
Documenting the creation of The Ellsworth App, in which I bathe in color and finally get a solid Piece III plot!
The Ellsworth Project: Part 4
Documenting the creation of The Ellsworth App, in which I figure out why my probability mapping is wonky in my plots.
The Ellsworth Project: Part 3
Documenting the creation of The Ellsworth App, in which I assign probabilities to a matrix and reswatch colors.
The Ellsworth Project: Part 2
Documenting the creation of The Ellsworth App, in which I model probabilities and spin my wheels a lot, but have fun doing it.
The Ellsworth Project: Part 1
A series documenting my learning process as I code The Ellsworth App, which generates random artwork inspired by Ellsworth Kelly’s Spectrum Colors by Chance Series - featuring loads of hand-written coding.
